Quotex Quick Trading Strategy with CCI and Super Trend
This strategy pairs two tools that look at the market from different angles: the Commodity Channel Index (CCI), a momentum oscillator, and the Super Trend indicator, a trend filter. Used together, CCI can flag when momentum is stretched while Super Trend tells you which side of the trend you are on. That makes them complementary rather than redundant. The setup below is written around short-term Quotex charts, but the logic carries over to any platform where you can load both indicators. Treat it as a framework to test and adapt, not a fixed recipe.
What CCI and Super Trend Actually Do
Super Trend plots a single line that flips above or below price to mark the prevailing direction: green under price means the bias is up, red above price means it is down. Its strength is staying with a clean, sustained move. Its weakness is worth stating plainly: in sideways, choppy conditions Super Trend whipsaws, flipping colour repeatedly and producing false signals, so recognising a range and standing aside is part of using it well.
CCI measures how far price has moved from its recent average. Readings pushed to an extreme suggest momentum is stretched, while a return toward the zero line often accompanies a fresh push. It is a momentum gauge, not a timing guarantee — an extreme reading can stay extreme in a strong trend, so it works best as confirmation alongside the trend filter rather than as a standalone trigger.
Suggested Settings and Timeframe
As a starting point, try a Super Trend period of 13 with a multiplier of 4, and a CCI period of 24. A higher multiplier makes Super Trend less twitchy, which helps on faster charts. These numbers are only a baseline — test them on a demo account and adjust the period and multiplier to suit the asset and timeframe you trade. Adjusting line thickness and colour also makes the signals easier to read at a glance.
How the Two Combine — Entry Rules
The idea is confluence: you want the trend filter and the momentum reading pointing the same way.
- For a long bias: wait for Super Trend to flip green beneath price, and for CCI to turn up from a low reading back toward the zero line. Agreement between the two is your cue to consider a trade.
- For a short bias: look for Super Trend to flip red above price while CCI rolls over from a high reading. Both aligned to the downside strengthens the case.
- Skip the trade when Super Trend keeps flipping colour every few candles. That is the whipsaw signature of a range, and it is where this pairing struggles most.
Patience matters more than speed. Missing a setup costs nothing; forcing one during chop is what does the damage. The video below walks through it on a live chart.

Realistic Expectations
No indicator combination reads the future. CCI and Super Trend describe what price has already done, and both lag to some degree, so some signals will fail. The goal of pairing a momentum tool with a trend filter is to skip more of the low-quality setups, not to remove losses. Judge the method over a sample of trades in a demo account before risking real money.
Risk Management
On fast timeframes discipline is everything. Decide your position size and your exit before you enter, and risk only a small, fixed portion of your account on any single trade. Do not chase losses by doubling your stake — martingale-style position sizing can wipe out an account quickly and is not a substitute for a sound plan. Take breaks, avoid trading through news spikes, and step away after a run of losses rather than pushing to "win it back." If you want the alert versions of these indicators bundled with the rest of the library, they are part of the $39 lifetime access.

FAQ
Does this strategy win every trade?
No. No strategy wins every trade, and this one is no exception. CCI and Super Trend can improve the quality of the setups you take by requiring agreement between momentum and trend, but both are lagging tools and some signals will fail. Manage risk on every trade and expect losers as part of the process.
Why combine CCI with Super Trend instead of using one?
They answer different questions. Super Trend tells you the direction of the current move but whipsaws in sideways markets; CCI gauges whether momentum is stretched or building. Using them together lets one confirm the other, filtering out weaker signals a single indicator might act on.
Can I use these settings on other platforms or timeframes?
Yes. The settings shown are a starting point for short-term charts, but CCI and Super Trend are available on most platforms, and slower timeframes generally produce steadier signals with less noise. Test any change on a demo account first and adjust the period and multiplier to fit the asset you trade.
